CAMPINAS, Brazil – As part of an exclusive Brazilian customer event series, Aviagen® returned to Cascavel, Paraná, on May 8 for the latest edition of Connection Aviagen. Building on the success of last year’s nationwide tour, the event welcomed more than 90 poultry professionals for a day of knowledge sharing, practical insights, and engaging discussions—all focused on helping customers get the most from their Ross® 308 AP flocks.
Connection Aviagen continues to offer a valuable space for learning, listening and collaborating on the challenges and opportunities that impact broiler performance across Brazil’s diverse poultry landscape.
Strengthening relationships, sharing practical knowledge
“Connection Aviagen is all about building relationships while delivering relevant management support,” explained Marco Aurélio Romagnole de Araújo, Technical Services Manager for Aviagen Brazil and event coordinator. “Brazilian poultry farming is both innovative and varied. This event gives us a chance to understand our customers’ needs in the field and together explore tailored solutions.”
Advancing together: From breeding progress to field application
Building on past Connection Aviagen topics, this year’s event offered fresh perspectives on balanced breeding, early-stage management, litter quality and environmental control—especially during colder months.
Jane Lara Grosso, Product Coordinator for Aviagen Latin America, shared updates on the genetic progress of Aviagen broilers and the increasing importance of effective management. “As birds become more efficient, their sensitivity to the environment grows,” she explained. “Farm conditions and stockmanship are now just as crucial as genetics in achieving top performance.”
Rodrigo Tedesco, Regional Technical Services Supervisor and Broiler Specialist, underscored the importance of early chick care, from ensuring proper temperature and access to feed and water, to achieving uniformity in the first few days. “The first seven days lay the foundation for a successful flock,” he emphasized.
Guest speaker Connie Mou, Technical Services Manager at Poultry Guard, offered her perspective on litter management, offering strategies for humidity control, ventilation, and housing density. “Poor litter leads to microbial load and performance losses. Good litter equals good welfare,” she noted.
Michael Longley, Executive Consultant at Food Chain Enterprises, presented winter management advice for adjusting ventilation and maintaining dry litter during cooler months.
Commitment to “Breeding Success Together”
The event reaffirmed Aviagen’s long-term commitment to “Breeding Success Together” with its customers and the broader poultry sector in Brazil.
Luiz Mansano, Commercial Manager for Aviagen Brazil, summed it up: “Events like Connection Aviagen allow us to share knowledge, strengthen customer ties and continue delivering on our promise to ensure a healthy, sustainable food supply for families in Brazil and across Latin America. We will continuously organize similar events in Brazil and other regions to promote customer success.”
