Poultry experts engage with clients of major poultry companies serving Costa Rica in separate events

CAMPINAS, Brazil – The Aviagen® Latin America team once again took to the road, this time collaborating with industry allies Interagro, Phibro and Plasson to share knowledge with poultry professionals in Belén, Costa Rica. Two events were held: the first on Sept. 22–23 with 80 clients of Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), one of the region’s largest poultry integrators, and the second on Sept. 25 with 80 clients of Avícola Pozos, Avikiri, Pollos Bak, Pollos Don José, Roblealto and Walmart.

Shared learning across both sessions

Across the two gatherings, the teams delivered a rich programme focused on practical solutions for Costa Rican producers. Topics ranged from breeder and broiler management, fertility and incubation, and nutrition, to critical issues such as biosecurity, gut health, heat stress, respiratory disease, Gumboro control and Salmonella prevention. Each subject was tailored to help farmers improve welfare, strengthen productivity, and respond to the unique challenges of modern poultry production.

Speakers at Knowledge without BordersA highlight of both events was a session on the benefits of the automatic central nest system – a modern innovation increasingly adopted by breeder and layer farms. By centralizing egg laying and collection, this system helps improve cleanliness, hatchability and biosecurity, while also easing management for farm workers.

Recognizing Costa Rican producers

“We were thrilled to meet with these dedicated producers who work daily to bring nutritious and much-loved chicken meat to Costa Rican families. Our ‘Knowledge Without Borders’ series is one way we are Breeding Success Together with our customers, providing practical tools and insights that make a difference on the farm. We look forward to continuing this journey side by side with our customers and their clients throughout Latin America”, said Rodrigo Cisoto, head of Technical Services for Aviagen in Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean (CAME).
